Buying a Treadmill is an investment in your future. The benefits of a Treadmill are insurmountable. For me it is sad that most people would even read this article because I know that they already know why running on a treadmill would benefit them.
It would only be fair to say that I work for FitnessScape. I am one of the folks that work diligently to insure you come to our site look at our exercise equipment and hopefully make wise decision to buy our equipment in this case a treadmill.
Here is the difference I use a treadmill for exercise which is for my benefit! I started noticing a nice little tire developing in my midsection. I wanted it gone yesterday. Not to mention going up the stairs and feeling a little winded. I run every other day to improve my cardio vascular health as well as for my own personal goal to jog in a half marathon which is in the spring. Yes I run outside as well but when the weather is unstable I flip the switch with my treadmill and I can still train. There is no comparison between running on a treadmill vs. running on the hard pavement. The decks on treadmills are so technology advanced to relieve impact on joints while the hard earth does not allow any relief. I also suggest buying a treadmill with a decent size deck I don’t like to feel cramped.
My current treadmill is not a folding treadmill. I have enough space in my home to accommodate a non folding model. Let’s face when I bought mine there were virtually very few folding treadmills on the market. I could kick myself for that. I think my husband would have appreciated a folding treadmill as mine sometimes gets in the way of his strength training equipment (even though he uses my treadmill as well). I would suggest to anyone to buy a folding treadmill whether you plan it or not you will aquire lots of stuff in your home. It just happens you can’t stop it so buy a folding model you’ll thank me later.
As far as horse power. You do not have to have a lot. Wow have you ever heard that before? Most people think about their car instead of making an educated choice when buying a treadmill. Pay attention to the warranties not the horsepower. Are you overweight? Look at the weight capacity? If you are over 300lbs you may want to go with a commercial treadmill. Walking on a treadmill puts more stress on the motor so again pay attention to warranties! If you plan on doing a lot of walking on your treadmill invest in a good one. If the warranty is 90 days you’ll get what you pay for. Hopefully you’ll get hooked on running. I cannot tell you all the benefits of owning a treadmill. Running is an addiction for me and I look forward to crossing that finish line in the spring! |
